Synthetic chocolate. I admit my sweet tooth perked up some at the promise but I just know it will be let down. My favourite candy as a child were these tiny chocolates called strela. They were these little cones of soft chocolate with brandy cream. I always made a mess of them but I have never found something as delicious. I do not think it will by synthetic chocolate that replaces them.

I have given careful consideration, weighed the many studies and findings against each other, the positives and negatives and have come to an important decision: I will keep drinking coffee. The real key to the decision is the fact I like coffee too much to stop drinking it. I also thought that it will be okay because the cancer I do get will be cancelled out by the cancer prevention. That's the only logical conclusion, right?

I am happy for the advancement in hair loss prevention for women. If this had been created a decade ago my grandmother would have been a very happy woman. My grandfather he had a full head of hair, thick as anything, but she had invested in many wigs by the time she passed. But my other grandfather, my mother's father, he was bald by forty five. His grandfather as well. I hope they find a cure for men because my future is looking bald if not. There are much worse things and it is very vain but I am attached to my hair, I do not mind admitting.

Oh and if anybody remembers my last blog posting, I am keeping the turtle. Her name is Karina and has shown no aptitude for martial arts yet. I am sure there will be someone asking.

I have a refugee of my own now. I found him in my hallway and have asked my neighbors if he belonged to any of them but they all deny it. I have no idea where he came from, though I believe someone must be lying. My apartment is a basement level and I do not believe this guy walked down all the stairs himself.

He is swimming in my sink right now. I don't know what to do with him beyond that. Turtles are omnivore, yes? I have seen some eating produce before, I'm sure. Is there anyone that wants a new pet?

I am reading again Gogol's Taras Bulba. It has always been one of my most favourite Gogol novels, I think maybe more than the Overcoat. But I each time I read that one again I say the opposite. It's easiest to just say they are both my favourites. The real flaw is that they make me miss Home more I have never read Jack Kerouac but I have heard all good things and I think I want to read something of his next.
